While some of the products that international brands develop especially for Japan have the potential to work in other markets, here is one that would certainly face some challenges. The AnBurger from Wendy's Japan is made up of a layer of margarine covered with an (sweetened red beans) and a slice of cheddar cheese. It sells for ¥105.
An (pronunication somewhat similar to "on") is a common ingredient in Japanese sweets that are mainly consumed with green Japanese tea. It strikes me as rather unusual to see it combined with a western ingredient like cheese and it makes me wonder where they came up with the idea. I haven't yet had the chance to taste it; I'll report back after I have.
